“How do you like them donuts?”
The Kansas City Chiefs, in overtime, beat the San Francisco 49ers, 25 to 22. By winning Super Bowl LVIII they became the first repeat champion since the New England Patriots accomplished it in 2024.
The OT finish wasn’t the only fun thing to watch. A handful of ads were the best Super Bowl commercials, with one “hands down” the best. Just like KC, Dunkin’ is a repeat winner!
Funny commercial – honorable mention #1: Sir Patrick Stewart Throws a Hail Arnold | A Mountain of Entertainment™
Paramount mountain stands in the way of Patrick Stewart, Tua Tagovailoa, Drew Barrymore and other characters. Creed’s ‘Higher’ does not help them get over the wall, but it does provide some laughs.
Funny commercial – honorable mention #2: Like a Good Neighbaaa
Arnold Schwarzenegger keeps saying “neighbaaa” instead of “neighbor” in his State Farm agent role as they film different action scenes. At the end, Danny DeVito takes his closing line.
Most touching – honorable mention #1: Perfect 10
A granddaughter puts on a private figure skating performance for her grandfather at night, with the lights powered by her Father’s Kia’s all-electric EV9.
Most touching – honorable mention #2: Gronk Misses The FanDuel Kick Of Destiny 2
Rob Gronkowski’s missed field goal kick, a second year in a row, set the stage for a tribute to the late Carl Weathers (1948-2024).
Most touching: Foot Washing
The message that we should not hate each other is a message that is so very much needed in our world today.
Best Super Bowl commercial 2024: Dunkin’s ‘The DunKings’
Ben Affleck surprises Jennifer Lopez in her recording studio. He brings with Tom Brady, Matt Damon and his entourage, all wearing orange tracksuits. It is an ad that can be watched over and over, with numerous laughs. As a repeat champ, it is already exciting to think how it will be topped during the next Super Bowl.
