At the core of Byrnes Consulting’s purpose is one simple principle... helping others.
While the business has a focus on financial advisors, financial advisory firms and the financial services industry, there are billions of people in the world that are much less fortunate. That is why Byrnes Consulting dedicates time to help those in need. In sharing expertise, volunteering and making financial contributions of 5% or more of net profits, the hope is that this small difference will make the world a better place.
Want “helping those in need” to be part of the core values of your business? Contact Byrnes Consulting for a free consultation so you can make a difference too.

Volunteer consultant and speaker
Mike has helped hundreds of charities in New England, through speaking and consulting, as part of Empower Success Corps. It is an organization that pulls together over one hundred volunteer consultants, having many different types of expertise, to “empower” nonprofits to have a better impact in their communities. His top areas of focus are strategic planning, fundraising and marketing.
Mike also helps give ESC advice, provides training to other fellow consultants, and was a recipient of the 2013 Edmund V. Marshall Outstanding Project of the Year Award and the “Above and Beyond Award” for both 2010 and 2011.

Missionary and volunteer
Mike was blessed to go on a mission to Haiti. There he saw the severe issues the country faces because of corruption, crime and poverty. However, through Haiti180 and St. Joseph Parish, he saw firsthand numerous good deeds that create hope for the Haitians. The group has created an orphanage, a school, a chapel, a church, elderly housing and a 4-story healthcare facility.
Back at home, Mike volunteers with the church ‘yard sale’ to raise thousands of dollars for the organization’s humanitarian efforts.
Volunteer and parishioner
Mike and his family feed a homeless individual each week who lives in the woods in his town.
He has been a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry since 2021. Mike volunteered as an overnight chaperone for the homeless and was a member of the Plymouth Taskforce to End Homelessness from 2022 to 2024.
In addition to Sundays, with his kids, Mike regularly attends daily mass each week.
Mike has supports the Sts. Mary & Joseph Collaborative family faith program as a substitute catechist and gave these two presentations: “Miracles” (2022) and “Signs of Heaven” (2023.)
Coach
As a former NCAA Division II baseball player, Mike gives back by coaching his kids’ baseball and softball teams. He was an assistant coach of the Acushnet Fairhaven Bolts AAU 12U baseball team and the head coach of the 11U Blue USA Prime Hitmen AAU team. Mike has coached town sports for over a decade. He also is an umpire.
He created the first-ever summer baseball and softball clinic, a week-long camp for 2nd to 7th graders that includes a ‘Red Sox Night Out’ at Fenway Park for 100 people.
Knight
Following in his Grandpa Joe’s footsteps, Mike is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and is an officer of St. Joseph’s Council #4480.
He was honored as the ‘Knight of the Year’ by his council in 2024.
In addition to attending monthly meetings, he volunteers in programs to support those in need in the area. For years he produced the Anchor, the monthly newsletter.

Friend
Mike tries to find ways to commit random acts of kindness for friends, neighbors, industry contacts and strangers. Sometimes a check-in call, a kind smile or a warm hug is all someone needs to turn his or her day around.
Mike’s favorite quote:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
